Helping Students Through AI
This freelance project involved creating an AI conversation between two university students for a University Mentorship Program as a way to demonstrate how to engage in conversation with a first year student. The goal of this was to give potential mentors some ideas of how they can socialize and what kind of responses they potentially might encounter. AI was determined to be the best course of action as hiring real people to conversate wasn’t in their budget.
I was tasked with finding a free resource for creating the AI content, as well as building the content into a scene with subtitles. The challenges faced in this project mainly stemmed from trial and error with fine tuning the AI to act the way I wanted. I had the freedom to choose Avatars and their voices and wanted to find something that felt as close to realistic as the budget would allow. AI is in it’s wild west period with so many different websites offering so many different approaches.
